Portraits around the world

Portrait photography around the world. Gorgeous young woman I photographed in Mexico a few weeks ago. Just looked around and found the best light in the corner of their modern unit in the middle of Monterrey, Mexico. You can do it anywhere, in any house or unit and without substantial supply of photographic gear. Just watch for the light travelling and touching softly different corners and walls. Dance with the light.

Back-lit portrait photography

Back-lit portrait photography One of the commonly known rules in basic photography is to avoid shooting against the sun or into the light. As if you do not know what you are doing – you will likely end up with either completely over exposed photographs or underexpose subjects and ugly shadows. If you are inexperienced photographer –  it can be challenging to figure out how to light your subject correctly in the back-lit situation. But mastering backlit photography can transform the way you shoot. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the breathtaking images you start creating.  Back-light adds drama, makes uninteresting, plain set-up exciting and magical. Soft, diffused back-light produces a romantic and dreamy effect. Ordinary becomes extraordinary! In the examples below – I have used a diffusion screen to filter strong studio light.
