Back-lit portrait photography

Back-lit portrait photography One of the commonly known rules in basic photography is to avoid shooting against the sun or into the light. As if you do not know what you are doing – you will likely end up with either completely over exposed photographs or underexpose subjects and ugly shadows. If you are inexperienced photographer –  it can be challenging to figure out how to light your subject correctly in the back-lit situation. But mastering backlit photography can transform the way you shoot. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the breathtaking images you start creating.  Back-light adds drama, makes uninteresting, plain set-up exciting and magical. Soft, diffused back-light produces a romantic and dreamy effect. Ordinary becomes extraordinary! In the examples below – I have used a diffusion screen to filter strong studio light.

Mature boudoir photography

Mature boudoir photography If you think you are not in your 20’s or 30’s and boudoir photography is not for you – let me tell you: My most adventurous, most uninhibited clients have been in their 40’s and 50’s and especially 60’s. Once you relax (and YOU WILL)  and realise that this is a bit of fun and adventure, you will throw off your inhibitions, and absolutely enjoy the whole experience. And this will show in your beautiful portraits! There is nothing more spectacular than a Woman Who Knows!
