Rita & Nikola

What an exhilarating day! Just got back after a very long day, and just loved being with this couple. We took their pre-wedding photos some time back and that really helped with the day. Nick was a bit nervous about his speech; but need not have been. Friend and videographer Raman from Arian Film Productions was there again. He is always a pleasure to work with. So many highlights of the day: Rita’s nephew’s [2 year old] cries of “No! No!” as Rita was placing the wedding ring on Nick’s hand, was perfect timing! Perhaps he didn’t want her to marry! ;>). But what a stunning Church: St Peter Chanel at Hunters Hill. The guys drove up in the meanest looking 1968 black Monaro I’ve seen. Of course, not to be outdone, Nikola’s ride was a black Ferrari! Rita, her gorgeous bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids [including my namesake – Kira] along with her cute 2 year old nephew, resplendent in his white tuxedo, and picture perfect flower girl; all came in cars supplied by Roll up in a Rolls. The kids got to ride in a convertible Morris 1000 no less! With location shots taken around Argyle street and Observatory Hill, the day flew past. Moving on to the Dockside at Darling Harbour the highlight of the reception was the spectacular Brazilian and Latin American performance staged by Hotbeat productions. Seriously: if you want to spice up your wedding – book this crowd. Hi energy entertainment, stunning dancers, exotic costumes and mid-blowing acrobatic dance in the capoeira style. Not to be outdone, young Kira [Rita’s 7 year old niece] sang to her Aunt and new Uncle to rapturous applause! The happy couple left by water taxi to stay overnight at the Park Hyatt before heading off in the morning [7am!] for an extended South East Asia honeymoon. I wish them all the very best and thank them for such a wonderful day! View their pre-wedding images here. View their wedding images here. Rebecca & Matthew

I had the priviledge to photograph this couple today. Long time friends, who decided to make their partnership more permanent, Rebecca was resplendent in a amazing gown that suited her figure, personality and style. Equally stylish in his top hat and tails, Matthew eagerly awaited his bride at St Martins in Waitara. What a beautiful church. It celebrates its centenery next year! Keeping with the style of the day; the couple then moved to Curzon Hall for more magnificent location shots and typical Curzon Hall sumptuous feast! I wish this wonderful couple all the best. I know there will be some extra special images of this wedding. Keep coming back to see when their images will be available. Their images are now available! Click here to view. Olga & Eugene

Olga, a stunning Russian beauty chose me to be the one to photograph her marriage to Eugene. Such a priviledge it was! Dressed in the most amazing Australian designed and made flowing gown with the biggest train I have ever seen! I think she was wearing two gowns! With beautiful bridesmaids as well, this group of ladies turned heads & stopped traffic – it should have made the news! Despite the weather being warm, and with such a magnificent gown; Olga was the essence of cool when she left mouths gaping as she entered Sydney’s Chinese Gardens! Not even last minute IT hitches could faze this beauty who took it all in her stride! Waiting for her in the Boat Pavilion was her beau Eugene, dressed sharply in his tuxedo. Olga was lucky to have her parents fly in from Russia to attend. Looking dashing, her Father found the weather a bit warm. Moving on from the gardens to Mrs Macquaries chair for some late afternoon images; we all then retired to the Gold Room of L’Aqua on top of Cockle Bay Wharf at Darling Harbour. Meanwhile, good natured and pleasantly mannered Raman from Arian Film Productions captured all the colour and movement of their day. A stunning honeymoon in the Maldives awaits! Their pictures are now online. Look at them here and here! Until next time, Kirahttp://www.artphotobykira.com.au/International Wedding Photographer of the Year 2008 – Bridal Portraiture. Natalie & James

Natalie, the beautiful go-getter, sales over-achiever married her man today at a romantic ceremony in historic St James church. A beautiful ceremony highlighted with a live performance from friends Jonathon & Talia; who sang “This is the first day of my life” by Bright Eyes. This was followed by location shots in under and around St James, then Mrs Macquaries chair. Their reception was in the stunning, palacial Tea Rooms high atop the Queen Victoria Building, a Sydney landmark. The DJ for the night was provided by Trancesallstar. The happy couple plan a month long honeymoon in Vietnam & Hong Kong. View their images here.
